Alex Michelsen Extends Winning Streak
Alex Michelsen defeated lucky loser Mackenzie McDonald in straight sets, 6-4, 7-5, to reach the second round in Washington. The American fired eight aces and saved eight of the 19 break points he faced during the match.
Michelsen is now one win away from reaching his second Washington quarterfinal. He achieved that feat on his tournament debut in 2024 before falling at this stage last year.
The 21-year-old is currently on a six-match winning streak after lifting the Challenger title in Bloomfield Hills last week. Mannarino Looks to Build on Big Win
