Nakashima Makes Another Deep Masters Run
Brandon Nakashima continued his impressive run by defeating Taylor Fritz in three sets to reach the semifinals in Cincinnati, 7-6, 4-6, 6-3. He trailed by a break in the deciding set before winning four consecutive games to close out the match.
With this run, he has become the first player ranked outside the Top 20 to reach the semifinals in both the Canadian Open and Cincinnati in the same season since 1990.
The 25-year-old recently enjoyed a breakthrough Masters run by reaching the semifinal in Montreal. Before that campaign, he had never reached the quarterfinals at this level, and he has now added another deep run in Cincinnati.
He has already played six semifinals this year and lost three of them, with two of those defeats coming against American opponents, including Frances Tiafoe in Acapulco in February.

Tiafoe's Cincinnati Run Brings Another Big Opportunity
Frances Tiafoe secured his place in the semifinals after defeating Lorenzo Musetti in straight sets, 7-6, 7-5. He trailed by a break in the first set but quickly recovered the deficit, regained control and finished the match in straight sets.
