Jenson Brooksby defeated rising youngster Martin Damm in three sets to reach the second round at Queen's Club, 6-4, 3-6, 6-3. He dropped serve twice and broke his opponent three times during the match.
With the victory, Brooksby snapped a nine-match losing streak on tour and recorded his first win since Indian Wells. He has registered multiple wins at only one tournament this season, reaching the quarterfinals in Dubai.
The American will now look to build on this result and make a deeper run on grass. Across his previous 10 grass-court appearances, he has recorded multiple main-draw wins only three times, reaching the finals in Newport in 2021 and Eastbourne in 2025, along with the third round at Wimbledon in 2025.

Cerundolo Ends Long Grass-Court Drought
Francisco Cerundolo defeated Aleksandar Kovacevic in three sets to move into the second round at Queen's Club, 6-4, 6-7, 6-2. He won 83 percent of his first-serve points and dropped serve only once during the match.
The result comes as a relief for the Argentine, who had not won a grass-court match in the last two years despite making five appearances on the surface. He is now looking to reach his first grass-court quarterfinal since his title-winning run in Eastbourne, which remains the only tournament where he has recorded multiple wins on grass.
Cerundolo has produced several solid results throughout the season and will be hoping to carry that consistency onto grass. A strong week here would be another positive step after an encouraging first half of the year.
