De Minaur Revives Clay Campaign
Alex de Minaur followed his comeback win over Francisco Cerundolo with another three-set victory against Alejandro Davidovich Fokina to reach the quarterfinals in Hamburg on debut.
The Australian had endured a difficult stretch before this week, failing to win multiple matches in six of his previous seven tournaments. The only exception during that period was his quarterfinal run in Monte Carlo.
Despite those recent struggles, De Minaur enjoyed an excellent start to 2026 by winning 11 of his opening 13 matches. That run included a quarterfinal appearance at the Australian Open and a title in Rotterdam.
