Tirante Looks to Carry Clay Success Onto Grass
Thiago Agustin Tirante arrives on grass after a productive run of results on clay that helped him climb to a career-high ranking of No. 52. The Argentine now turns his attention to a new challenge as he prepares for his first tour-level main-draw appearance on grass.
His best results this season include a quarterfinal run in Rio de Janeiro and a semifinal appearance in Houston. He also enjoyed breakthrough performances at Masters events, reaching the third round in Madrid and the fourth round in Rome, before adding a third-round showing at Roland Garros.
Grass remains largely unfamiliar territory for Tirante. He has played five events on the surface during his career, with four of those ending in the Wimbledon qualifying draw. His best grass-court result came at the Ilkley Challenger, where he reached the second round.

Jacob Fearnley Finds Form on Grass
Jacob Fearnley ended a difficult run of results by reaching the final of the Challenger event in Ilkley. He followed that performance with a second-round appearance at the Nottingham Challenger, giving him some much-needed momentum during the grass-court season.
Before the switch to grass, the Briton had struggled across all levels. He played 12 tournaments prior to the grass swing and managed just three main-draw victories, with one of those wins coming at Indian Wells.
Fearnley has already shown he can compete well on grass at tour level. He has played six ATP main-draw events on the surface and progressed beyond the opening round in three of them. His best result came at Queen's Club, where he reached the quarterfinals.
