Tommy Paul is a former champion at Queen's Club and currently carries a five-match winning streak at this venue. He has generally performed at a much higher level than Botic van de Zandschulp throughout this season and arrives in this matchup with considerably more momentum and confidence

The conditions also suit Paul's game well, and he should feel comfortable returning to one of his most successful tournaments.

Quarterfinal Spot On The Line

  • Paul owns a 14–4 record against players outside the Top 50 in 2026.
  • He has reached the quarterfinals in two of his three appearances at Queen's Club.
  • Zandschulp has not recorded multiple main-draw wins on grass since 2022.

American Eyes Return to the Top 20

Tommy Paul cleared the first-round hurdle after defeating Zachary Svajda in straight sets at Queen's Club, 7-5, 6-3. He fired 15 aces and saved all five break points he faced during the match.

The American has enjoyed a solid season overall, posting five quarterfinal-or-better results, including three runner-up finishes. Despite those performances, he still remains short of the points needed to return to the Top 20.

Paul played only two grass-court events last year and won just one match, leaving him with a good opportunity to gain ranking points during this part of the season. A couple of deep runs could be enough to move him back into the Top 20.

He is now looking for his first grass-court quarterfinal since Wimbledon 2024. Paul has made three main-draw appearances at Queen's Club and reached the quarterfinals in two of them, including his title-winning campaign during his most recent appearance in 2024.

Important Victory for Van de Zandschulp

Botic van de Zandschulp cleared the first-round hurdle after defeating Harry Wendelken in straight sets, 6-4, 7-6. He fired eight aces and saved six of the seven break points he faced during the match.

With the victory, the Dutchman snapped a four-match losing streak on tour, including an early defeat at his home event in 's-Hertogenbosch last week.

Van de Zandschulp has recorded multiple main-draw wins at only four of the 13 tournaments he has played this season. His best results include third-round runs at the Australian Open and Rome, a quarterfinal appearance in Rotterdam and a semifinal showing in Bucharest.

He has not won more than one match at a grass-court event in the last three years. The last time he recorded multiple wins on the surface came at Wimbledon in 2022, and he will be hoping to end that streak this week.

Verdict

Considering the gap in current form and Paul's excellent record at Queen's Club, he should be well positioned to take control of this contest. Backing Paul to win in straight sets and cover the -3.5 games handicap both look like strong options in this matchup.
