Andrey Rublev arrives full of confidence after lifting the title in Bastad last week and now begins his Estoril campaign with plenty of momentum. The Russian has a favorable opening-round matchup against Timofey Skatov, a player he should be able to overpower with his superior baseline game and aggressive shot-making. If Rublev maintains the level he showed last week, he should be in control from the outset.
Rublev Targets Another Deep Clay Run

Andrey Rublev lifted the Bastad title last week after defeating Alejandro Tabilo and Luciano Darderi in the final two rounds, a run that boosted his confidence following a disappointing grass-court season.
The Russian has also reached four other semifinals or better this season, along with the fourth round at the French Open and the quarterfinals in Rome. Those results have helped him steadily climb back up the rankings as he targets a return to the top 10.
This is only his second appearance in Estoril. On his debut in 2017, he was knocked out in the qualifying stages.

Skatov Looks to Build Confidence
Timofey Skatov lost in the final round of qualifying but received a lucky loser entry and made the most of the opportunity by coming from a set down to defeat Jesper de Jong 1-6, 6-4, 6-3 in the first round.
The result was a welcome boost for Skatov, who arrived in Estoril without a main-draw win in his previous five tournaments. It is also his first ATP Tour main-draw appearance since 2024.
Skatov has previously cleared the opening round at tour level only twice, reaching the quarterfinals in Bastad in 2024 and the second round in Nur-Sultan in 2021.
