Jaume Munar Makes Eastbourne Debut
Jaume Munar began his grass-court season in 's-Hertogenbosch last week, where he lost to Martin Damm in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4. It was his second consecutive opening-round defeat following a first-round loss to Hubert Hurkacz at Roland Garros.
The Spaniard has dealt with physical issues during parts of the season and has played a limited schedule. Despite that, he has produced some solid results, reaching the quarterfinals in Adelaide, Rotterdam, and Geneva.
Munar is making his Eastbourne debut this week. Grass has traditionally been his least productive surface, with a 6-17 career record. Outside of Wimbledon, that record drops to just 1-12, highlighting the difficulties he has faced on grass throughout his career.
