Consistency eluded them all season long as they managed consecutive wins just once, but they have already achieved that in 2025.
DC lost their head coach just days before the start of the season, but overcame that setback with a shock 18-11 win over defending champions Birmingham.
The Defenders then backed that up last weekend, as they downed Memphis 17-12 to improve to 2-0.
St Louis Battlehawks Form
St Louis come into this matchup having also enjoyed a flawless start to the season, winning their first two games.
The Battlehawks’ 2024 campaign ended in disappointment as they were beaten in the conference championship on their home turf to miss out on the UFL Championship Game.
They made the controversial decision to move on from quarterback AJ McCarron following that defeat, but so far they have not missed a beat on offense.
St Louis opened the campaign on the road and registered a blowout win over the Roughnecks, winning 31-6 in Houston.
The Battlehawks then backed up that victory in their home opener, avenging last season’s conference championship loss with a 26-9 win over San Antonio.
Verdict
St Louis’ offense has looked sharp through two games, while the defense has been locking down opponents.
They should be tested more by DC here, but we expect the Battlehawks to pass that test as they go 3-0.
