Philadelphia then lost 21-13 to Pittsburgh before suffering an embarrassing 41-16 blowout at the hands of Houston.
The Stars got back on track after that though, going on a three-game win streak as they beat New Jersey 24-21, New Orleans 16-10 and Pittsburgh 37-31.
However, they have passed up on the chance to secure a playoff place in recent weeks, losing 27-24 to Birmingham and 37-33 to New Jersey.

Michigan have lost six of their last seven games to fall to 3-6, but they are not out of the playoff race.
The Panthers made a promising start to the season as they followed up a 29-13 win against Houston with a 24-10 upset of Philadelphia.
Their form collapsed after that though, as they lost four consecutive games, starting with a 29-13 defeat to New Jersey.
Michigan then lost 29-10 to Memphis, 23-7 to Pittsburgh and 27-13 to Birmingham as they fell to 2-4.
The Panthers temporarily snapped their skid with a 25-22 win over New Jersey, only to then lose back-to-back games and leave themselves in a must-win situation here.
They were beaten 24-10 by New Orleans, before suffering a 19-7 defeat at the hands of Pittsburgh.
