Lynn was just so-so in the second half after having a great first half. The 34-year-old had a great tune-up outing the last time out (Oct. 1), limiting Detroit to four hits and one run striking out four and walking one – marking the third time in the past four starts that Lynn has held his opponents to one or fewer runs. He allowed eight hits and six runs over four innings in his only start to Astros this year.

Houston (95-67) is the AL’s No. 2 seed as the West division champions. The Astros are making their fifth straight postseason appearance.

The Astros are 4-6 in their last 10, 51-30 at home and vs. 61-39 RHPs.

This should be an excellent series. Both teams are in good form. The White Sox might be without 1B Jose Abreu (illness) and they have struggled on the road.

The Astros dominated the White Sox at Minute Maid Park this year and they have been tremendous at home this year. The ‘Stros have been swinging the bats the bats extremely well and McCullers has completely shut down the White Sox this year. Additionally, several Houston batters – led by Jose Altuve and Michael Brantley – have had a lot of success against Lynn.
