Cleveland entered this series on the back of a couple of wins but having cooled off since that hot run in late May.
The Guardians went on a nine-game win streak towards the end of the month, but an 8-6 defeat in Colorado proved to be the start of the dip.
They split the next two meetings, winning 13-7 and losing 7-4, before winning the first two games at home to Washington, 7-1 and 3-2.
Cleveland lost the final game 5-2, and then failed to build on an 8-5 victory over Kansas City as they lost the second meeting 4-3.
The Guardians then dropped the series opener in Miami, 3-2, only to rebound with 8-0 and 6-3 victories over the Marlins.
Cincinnati Reds Form
Cincinnati came into this series on the back of a loss, but in good form having won eight of their previous 10 games.
The Reds began this sequence in Chicago, where they sandwiched a 7-5 defeat to the Cubs with 5-3 and 5-2 wins.
They then travelled to Colorado where the swept the Rockies in a three-game series, winning 13-3, 4-1 and 12-7.
Cincinnati then returned home for a four-game series with the Chicago Cubs, and extended their victories with 8-4, 3-2 and 4-3 victories.
The Reds failed to complete a series sweep of the Cubs however, as they were beaten 4-2 in the final game of the series.
Verdict
Cincinnati have won a bunch of games recently and Nick Lodolo has been stacking up victories, so we are backing the Reds to bounce back.
