The Thunder’s swarming defense has been too much for Minnesota so far, and at the other end of the court newly-minted MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander continues to pile up the points.

Oklahoma City head out on the road in control of this series, having recorded back-to-back double-digit wins at home.

The Thunder demolished Minnesota in the series opener, 114-88, and backed that up with a 118-103 victory to successfully defend their home court.

They came into Western Conference Finals on the back of a seven-game series, but having played just one more game than the Timberwolves.

Oklahoma City swept Memphis in four games in the opening round of the postseason, reeling off 131-80, 118-99, 114-108 and 117-115 wins.

The second round was not a straightforward though, as it took the Thunder seven games to finally eliminate Denver.

They fell behind early as they lost 121-119 and 113-104 (OT) either side of a 149-106 victory, but they turned it around with three wins in the next four games.

Oklahoma City won the next two, 92-87 and 112-105, before bouncing back from a 119-107 defeat with a series-clinching 125-93 success at home.

Minnesota Timberwolves Form

Minnesota return home in desperate need of a victory, having opened the Western Conference Final with a couple of road losses.

The Timberwolves were blown out on opening night by Oklahoma City, 114-88, and that was followed by a 118-103 defeat on Thursday night.

They came into the conference finals on a dominant run, winning eight of their 10 games to set up this showdown with the Thunder.

Minnesota made a dream start to the playoffs as they beat the Lakers in Los Angeles, 117-95 in Game 1.

The Timberwolves then rebounded from a 94-85 loss with 116-104, 116-113 and 103-96 victories to secure a place in the second round.

They dropped their opening game against Golden State, 99-88 at home, but issued an emphatic response to win the series 4-1.

Minnesota reeled off four consecutive wins over the Warriors, advancing to the Western Conference Finals thanks to 117-93, 102-97, 117-110 and 121-110 wins.

Oklahoma City have had their way with Minnesota through two games and the gap between the two teams is looking bigger than first thought.

Until Edwards gets some support and the Timberwolves show they can handle Caruso & Co., we are riding with the Thunder.
