The Boilermakers got off to a slow start as they sandwiched a 56-0 shutout of Indiana State with defeats to Penn State (35-31) and Syracuse (32-29).
They kick-started their season with a 28-26 win against Florida Atlantic that was followed by a 20-10 upset of #21 Minnesota on the road.
Purdue then downed Maryland 31-29 before returning home to beat Nebraska 43-37, but their streak was halted at four games.
The Boilermakers were beaten 35-24 at Wisconsin and then produced their worst offensive display of the season in a 24-3 home loss to Iowa.
They hit back a week later though to knock off #21 Illinois, and then wrapped up the regular season with wins against Northwestern (17-9) and Indiana (30-16).
