Felix Finds a Way Again in Paris
Felix Auger-Aliassime followed his five-set win over Daniel Altmaier with another comeback victory against Roman Andres Burruchaga to reach the third round. He dropped the opening set in both matches but found a way through each time.
These wins come at a good time for the Canadian. Before arriving in Paris, he failed to win multiple matches in four of his last five tournaments, with the third round in Monte Carlo his only notable result during that stretch.
Even with those recent early exits, his clay results have still been better than last year. In 2025, he won only three of his nine clay-court matches and suffered five opening-round defeats.
Away from clay, Auger-Aliassime has continued to post solid results since last season. He reached the finals in Montpellier and Rotterdam, the semifinals in Dubai, and the fourth round at Indian Wells.

Nakashima Matches Career-Best Paris Run
Brandon Nakashima moved into the third round at the French Open after defeating Luca Van Assche in five sets, 6-7, 6-4, 5-7, 6-1, 6-3. Nakashima fired 12 aces and won 83 percent of his first-serve points during the match.
This is the second time he has reached the third round at Roland Garros. During his main-draw debut four years ago, he also made it this far before losing to Alexander Zverev in straight sets.
It is also the first time Nakashima has won back-to-back matches at tour level since February. Earlier this season, he reached the final in Brisbane and the semifinals in Acapulco.
The American holds a 2-4 record in Grand Slam third-round matches. His two wins at this stage came at Wimbledon in 2022 and the US Open in 2024.
