Ugo Humbert has enjoyed plenty of success on grass throughout his career and possesses considerably more experience on the surface than Hamad Medjedovic. However, his form this season has been far from convincing, and his performances have generally trended in the wrong direction.
Given those concerns, it is difficult to justify him being such a short-priced favorite against a talented and dangerous opponent like Medjedovic.

Medjedovic Battles Through in London
Hamad Medjedovic defeated Arthur Rinderknech in two tiebreak sets to reach the second round at Queen's Club, 7-6, 7-6. He trailed by a mini-break in both tiebreaks but recovered well to come through in straight sets.
The Serbian had previously cleared the opening round at a tour-level grass-court event twice in his career. He lost in the second round in Stuttgart in 2024 but went on to reach the quarterfinals in Mallorca in 2025.
Medjedovic has played only a limited schedule this season but has made a strong impact whenever he has competed. He reached the semifinals in Munich and the fourth round in Rome, results that underline the progress he has made over the past few months.

Humbert Continues Grass-Court Campaign
Ugo Humbert moved into the second round at Queen's Club after defeating Marin Cilic in straight sets, 7-5, 6-3. He fired 18 aces and saved all three break points he faced during the match.
It was the first time Humbert had cleared the opening-round hurdle at Queen's Club. His previous two appearances, in 2023 and 2024, both ended without a main-draw win.
The Frenchman has struggled to build on his strong start to the season. He has failed to win multiple matches in five of his last six tournaments, a disappointing stretch considering he reached the final in Adelaide, the semifinals in Rotterdam and the fourth round in Miami earlier this year.
Last week in 's-Hertogenbosch, Humbert won his opening match before losing to Benjamin Bonzi in the second round. He now has another opportunity to put together a deeper run and will be hoping to make the most of it this week.

Verdict
