Struff Seeks Deep Run on Clay
Jan-Lennard Struff moved into the second round after registering a comeback three-set win over Alexander Shevchenko in Kitzbuhel, 3-6, 7-6, 6-4. He won 86% of his first-serve points and converted three of the seven break-point opportunities he created.
The 35-year-old struggled for consistency during the first half of the season. He cleared the opening-round hurdle in only six of his first 16 tournaments and failed to progress beyond the second round in any of them.
However, his quarterfinal run at Wimbledon lifted him back into the top 50 and gave him renewed confidence. He will now look to build on that momentum this week.
Struff has already reached the Kitzbuhel quarterfinals twice, in 2016 and 2025, and is aiming to match that result once again.

Navone Makes Strong Start in Kitzbuhel
Mariano Navone advanced to the second round after defeating Alexandre Muller in straight sets, 6-4, 6-0. He saved three of the four break points he faced and converted five of the 11 break-point opportunities he created.
With the victory, the Argentine snapped a four-match losing streak and recorded his first win since the French Open. He will now look to carry that momentum into the second round.
Navone has registered multiple main-draw wins at only four of his 19 tournaments this season, reaching the final in Bucharest, the Geneva Challenger, and the Cap Cana Challenger, while also making the third round in Rome.
