Third Straight Last-Eight Run

Taylor Fritz defeated Alexander Bublik in straight sets to reach the Wimbledon quarterfinals. Apart from dropping a set to Lorenzo Sonego, he has won his other three matches in straight sets this fortnight.

This is his third consecutive Wimbledon quarterfinal. He has played three previous quarterfinals here, losing two of them, with his only victory coming against Karen Khachanov last year.

After a strong start to the season, the American struggled with fitness issues and played only a limited clay-court schedule to focus on his recovery. That decision has paid off, as he entered the grass season in improved condition and reached back-to-back finals in Stuttgart and Halle.

Fritz heads into this clash with a 2-5 career record in Grand Slam quarterfinals and, with strong grass-court momentum on his side, will be aiming to extend his run this week.

Zverev Extends Remarkable Season

Alexander Zverev defeated the talented Czech Jiri Lehecka in four sets to reach the Wimbledon quarterfinals. It was only the second time he had dropped a set this fortnight, following his opening-round match against Alexander Blockx.

The German achieved the biggest milestone of his career a few months ago by winning his maiden Grand Slam title at Roland Garros. He now looks to build on that success with another deep run at Wimbledon.

Zverev has already played eight quarterfinals this season and has won all of them, including his run to the semifinal in Halle a few weeks ago.

He heads into this clash with an 11-6 career record in Grand Slam quarterfinals and a 2-5 record against top-10 opponents at this stage.
