Memphis head out on the road looking to build on their first win of the 2025 UFL season.
The Showboats went just 2-8 in 2024, so it was no major surprise to see them struggle out of the blocks.
They opened the season at home but fell to a 26-12 defeat to Michigan, and then lost 17-12 to the DC Defenders in their road opener.
Memphis then dropped a battle of winless teams as they were beaten 18-17 at home by Houston, before falling to 0-4 with a 27-9 defeat in Michigan.
The Showboats finally got off the mark in Week 5 though, and they did it in sensational fashion as they beat defending champions Birmingham 24-20.
Houston Roughnecks Form
Houston return home looking to build on their second victory in three games and record their first home win of 2025.
Like Memphis, the Roughnecks also endured a rough season and came into 2025 with low expectations.
They opened with a 31-6 blowout defeat at home to St Louis, and although they improved defensively in Week 2 they still fell to an 11-9 defeat in Arlington.
Houston did turn improvement into victory a week later as they lost 18-17 in Memphis, only to return to losing ways with a 23-16 home loss to Birmingham.
The Roughnecks did issue a swift response though, as they travelled to San Antonio to take down the Brahmas 27-3
Verdict
Houston’s offense found some life last week, but we are not ready to jump on a Roughnecks team by this many points.
We need to see more consistency from them, so we are taking the Showboats and the free points in this one.
