Ciryl Gane is aiming to rebound after losing a UFC heavyweight title fight in his last outing.
The 32-year-old Frenchman joined the UFC in 2019 with a 3-0 professional record and quickly stormed up the ladder.
Despite being a kickboxer his first two fights ended in submission as he stopped Raphael Pessoa and Don’Tale Mayes in the first round.
Gane then beat Tanner Boser by decision before knocking out former champion Junior Dos Santos in the second round.
His stock continued to rise in the first half of 2021 as he claimed decision wins against Jairzinho Rozenstruik and Alexander Volkov to climb into the top five.
‘Bon Gamin’ then knocked out Derrick Lewis in the third round to secure a shot at the title.

That defeat left Gane with a 10-1 professional record, with four wins coming by KO/TKO and three via submission.
Tai Tuivasa Form
Tai Tuivasa is enjoying his best run of form since signing with the UFC, having won five straight fights.
Tuivasa debuted in the UFC in 2017 and got off to a successful start as he won his first three outings.
He recorded first-round stoppages of Rashad Coulter and Cyril Asker before beating ex-champion Andrei Arlovski by decision.
His streak was halted by a second-round knockout defeat at the hands of Junior dos Santos, and that sparked a three-fight losing run.
Tuivasa dropped a decision to Blagoy Ivanov before being submitted by Sergey Spivak in the second round.
The 29-year-old Australian was able to stop his slide in 2020 though, knocking out Stefan Struve in the first round.
He then went on to record first round KO/TKO wins over Harry Hunsucker and Greg Hardy, before knocking out Augusto Sakai in the second round.
Tuivasa then scored the biggest win of his career back in February, knocking out Derrick Lewis in the second round.
That victory improved his professional record to 14-3, with 13 of those victories coming by KO/TKO.
