Edmonton go into their final regular season game already out of the playoff race with a 4-14 record.
The Elks’ season was effectively ended before it really even started as they lost their opening nine games.
They did not record their first win until the 24-10 success at Hamilton on August 17, and although they won three of the next four the damage had already been done.
Edmonton lost 37-29 at home to BC before their second bye week of the 2023 regular season.
And when they returned to action, the Elks were beaten 35-12 at Toronto before returning home for a 35-21 loss to Montreal.
Winnipeg Blue Bombers Form
Winnipeg go into this game on the back of a big win over BC that put them on the brink of clinching the division.
The Blue Bombers dropped a couple of games during the first two months of the season, but a five-game win streak between late July and the end of August put them on course for the playoffs.
That run was halted by a surprise 32-20 overtime loss to Saskatchewan, and a couple of weeks later they were beaten 29-23 in Hamilton.
Winnipeg have rebounded since then however, winning back-to-back games to improve to 12-4.
The Blue Bombers beat Toronto 31-21 in a rematch of last season’s Grey Cup, and they backed that up with a 34-26 overtime success in a massive divisional clash against BC.
Verdict
Winnipeg are the better team, in better form with plenty still to play for, so we are confident that they will cover a double digit spread as they win this game.
