  • Georgia won 33-18 when the two teams last met in January 2022

Georgia Form

Georgia take a perfect record and the #1 spot in the College Football rankings into the SEC Championship Game.

The Bulldogs took down LSU in last season’s SEC finale, and they are now seeking back-to-back championship game wins after winning all 12 of their regular season games.

They notched their first big win of the season in early October when they blew out #20 Kentucky, 51-13, at home.

Georgia then backed that up with a 37-20 win at Vanderbilt and a 43-20 success against Florida to set themselves up nicely for a run of three consecutive games against ranked teams.

The Bulldogs beat #14 Missouri at home, 30-21, and then made light work of #10 Ole Miss in a 52-17 blowout success.

That was followed by a 38-10 victory at #21 Tennessee, and they wrapped up a perfect regular season campaign last weekend with a 31-23 victory at Georgia Tech.

Alabama Form

Alabama enter the SEC Championship Game having lost just once all season, while going unbeaten in conference play.

The Crimson Tide’s sole loss came in the second week of the season when they suffered a surprise 34-24 home defeat to #11 Texas that did major harm to their College Football Playoff chances.

They have not lost since though, and kicked off an unbeaten SEC campaign with a 24-10 win against #15 Ole Miss.

Alabama backed that up on the road as they beat Mississippi State 40-17 and Texas A&M 26-20, and that was followed by a 24-21 home win against Arkansas that set them up for a couple of big games.

The Crimson Tide downed #17 Tennessee at home, 34-20, before out-scoring #13 LSU 21-7 in the second half to win 42-28.

They then wrapped up an unbeaten conference campaign with a 49-21 win at Kentucky and a 27-24 victory at Auburn.

Verdict

Georgia are the defending national champions, the #1 team in the nation and they are hitting top form.

The Bulldogs are backed to win and cover in the SEC Championship Game, and stay on course for back-to-back national titles.
