Louisville overcame a couple of losses in the regular season to book their place in the ACC Championship Game.
The Cardinals opened the season with a six-game win streak that included a 33-20 upset of #10 Notre Dame at home, 33-20.
They were brought back down to Earth a week later though, as they fell to a 38-21 defeat at ACC rivals Pittsburgh.
Louisville rebounded impressively though, shutting out #20 Duke in a 23-0 victory when they returned to action a couple of weeks later.
The Cardinals then beat Virginia Tech 34-3 and Virginia 31-24 at home, before heading to Miami to beat the Hurricanes 38-31 and book a place in the conference championship.
They come into this game on the back of a defeat though, having lost 38-31 to rivals Kentucky last weekend.
Florida State Form
Florida State come into the ACC Championship Game boasting a perfect record, but without their star quarterback.
Jordan Travis suffered a season-ending injury during the win against North Alabama, but a place in the conference championship was already secured.
The Seminoles made the perfect start to the season as they knocked off #5 LSU, 45-24, to make themselves a contender for the national championship.
They backed that up with a 66-13 demolition of Southern Mississippi, and from there they started racking up wins against ACC rivals, beating Boston College 31-29 and Clemson 31-24 on the road.
Florida State then returned home to beat Virginia Tech 39-17, Syracuse 41-3 and #16 Duke 39-20, before heading back out on the road to beat Wake Forest 41-16 and Pittsburgh 24-7.
The Seminoles clinched their ACC final place with a 27-20 victory over Miami FL, and took their wins streak to 12 games with a 58-13 blowout of North Alabama and a 24-15 victory at Florida.
Verdict
Losing Jordan Travis all but ended Florida State’s chances of a national title.
They are still the cream of the crop in the ACC though, and they are backed to ride a strong defensive effort to victory over Louisville.
