Toronto’s winning run was ended by a 3-1 loss at Florida, but they responded immediately with a 4-3 overtime victory at Tampa Bay to spark a five-game tear.
The Maple Leafs then beat Montreal 1-0 in overtime, before downing Carolina 4-1, Buffalo 4-0 and Detroit 4-3 in overtime.
Verdict
Toronto led the way in the Atlantic Division, but we expect Ottawa to spring at least one upset in this series.
After all, the Maple Leafs have suffered a string of disappointing playoff exits in recent years, and the Senators completed a sweep of the hosts in the regular season.
