St Louis booked their place in the postseason by compiling a 44-30-8 record to finish fifth in the Central Division standings.
The Blues enjoyed a red-hot run of form between the middle of March and early April as they embarked on a season best 12-game win streak to storm into the postseason picture.
That run cooled off with a three-game losing skid, which began with a 3-1 defeat when they visited playoff opponents Winnipeg.
St Louis then moved on to Edmonton to lose 4-3 to the Oilers, before heading to Seattle for a 4-3 shootout defeat to the Kraken.
The Blues ended the regular season on a positive note though, as they blew out Utah at home, 6-1.

Winnipeg secured their place in the playoffs by putting together a league-best 56-22-4 record to win the Central Division.
The Jets’ tremendous form saw them finish six games clear of Dallas, and they ended the regular season on a solid run too.
They dropped two of their first three games in April, but rebounded to win their next three, starting with a 3-1 victory over postseason opponents St Louis.
Winnipeg then backed up that victory on the road, as they won 4-0 in Dallas before heading to Chicago to down the Blackhawks via a shootout, 5-4.
The Jets failed to make it four-in-a-row as they lost 4-1 to Edmonton, but they did rebound in the regular season finale to beat Anaheim 2-1 in overtime.
Verdict
Winnipeg were the cream of the crop in the regular season and had St Louis’ number with three wins in four meetings.
