Casper Ruud Hopes to Break New Ground
Casper Ruud had a good opportunity to make a deep run at Roland Garros but missed it after losing to Joao Fonseca in four sets. It was a disappointing result considering his experience and the strong form he had shown on clay this season.
The Norwegian was a little inconsistent during the opening months of the season, registering multiple main-draw wins only twice in his first three months. Hurkacz Seeks Better Grass Results
Hubert Hurkacz played two lead-up events before Wimbledon, but both ended in early exits. He lost in the first round in 's-Hertogenbosch before suffering a second-round defeat in Halle the following week.
After a six-month injury layoff, the Pole returned to the tour earlier this season and won only one match across his first seven tournaments.
