The Gators are breaking in a bunch of new players so the offense may need a quarter to get firing.
The run game will get it going though and a vastly improved defense should be able shut down FAU.

FAU made a strong start to the 2020 season, winning five of their first six games with their only loss coming to #22 Marshall.
The wheels fell off during the final few weeks of the season though as they lost three straight.
A normally reliable defense gave up 90 points across those three games – they had given up 67 through their first six games.
Offensively they had their issues too and will be hoping ex-Miami QB N’Kosi Perry gives them a boost.
They lack playmakers though and that could be there undoing against the better schools, when they will need to put up a decent total.

2020 was a year to forget for Florida as they lost their final three games and went 8-3 in SEC play.
They dropped their regular season finale to unranked LSU, losing 37-34 at home to the Tigers.
The Gators then gave up 52 points as they failed to keep pace with the high-power Alabama offense in the SEC Championship Game.
That was followed up by a blowout defeat to Oklahoma in the Cotton Bowl that saw several NFL Draft-bound players sit out.
Those players have now moved on so this will be something of a new-look Florida team, especially on offense.
Dan Mullens has a reputation for being a ‘QB’ whisperer so he should be able to bring the best out of Emory Jones.
Defensively this group should look a lot better at 2021. Florida are stacked at linebacker and they also have some excellent DBs to defend against the pass.

FAU has a tough defense that may keep them in this early. However, once Florida get rolling they could be hard to stop.
