Chicago Bulls at Miami Heat Preview & Picks

Chicago are tipped to cover as an underdog on the road.

The Bulls are a scrappy team that tends to raise its game against the NBA’s best, and they could be facing a Miami group missing Jimmy Butler.

  • Chicago Bulls are 4-0-0 ATS in their last 4 games
  • Chicago Bulls are 9-3-0 ATS in their last 12 games as a road underdog
  • Chicago Bulls were 3-1-0 ATS in the 4 regular season meetings with Miami
  • The Over cashed in 3 of the 4 regular season meetings

Head To Head

  • Chicago Bulls lead the all-time series 83-77
  • The regular season series was split 2-2
  • Miami Heat won 118-116 when the two teams last met on December 16

Chicago Bulls Form

Chicago ended the regular season with a losing record, but their 39 wins were enough to secure a spot in the Play-In Tournament.

The Bulls started April with a 113-101 defeat at home to Atlanta, but rebounded quickly with a 108-100 win over New York.

They failed to back that up though as they lost back-to-back games, falling 113-98 in Orlando and 128-117 at home to the Knicks.

Chicago bounced back with a 127-105 victory in Detroit, and then won 129-127 in Washington before losing their regular season finale in New York, 120-119 in overtime.

The Bulls responded in style in their first Play-In game though, beating Atlanta 131-116 to set up this meeting with Miami.

Miami Heat Form

Miami had to settle for a place in the Play-In Tournament after narrowly missing out on the playoffs with a 46-36 regular-season record.

The Heat enjoyed a decent run over the final few weeks of the regular season, winning seven of the last 10 games on their schedule.

This run started with a three-game win streak – their best run of form since the second half of February – but it came to an end with a 109-105 defeat to Philadelphia.

Miami went 2-2 over their next four games, but were able to wrap up the regular season with a couple of wins, beating Toronto 125-103 and 118-103 at home.

However, the Heat failed to make it three-in-a-row in their first Play-In game, losing 105-104 in Philadelphia on Wednesday night.

Verdict

Miami are sweating over the health of Jimmy Butler and his absence would be a massive blow.

Chicago have been solid as a road underdog in recent months and have covered consistently against the Heat this season, including both road meetings, so give us the Bulls and the points.
