The Crimson Tide had a rough end to the regular season as they lost three of their final five games.
They did win their season finale, beating Arkansas 92-88 in overtime at home, but they failed to back that up in the SEC tournament.
Alabama were given a bye to the quarter-finals of the tournament, but crashed out immediately with a 102-88 defeat to Florida.
The Crimson Tide were able to avoid a swift exit from the national tournament however, beating the College of Charleston 109-96 in the first round.
Grand Canyon Form
Grand Canyon are riding a six-game win streak into the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
The Antelopes have not lost since back-to-back defeats in late February, when they lost 77-74 at Tarleton State and 79-73 at Abilene Christian.
They rebounded to win their final three game of the season and then built on that streak at the Western Athletic Conference tournament.
Grand Canyon downed Seattle in the semi-finals, 80-72, before taking down UT Arlington in the final, 89-74.
The Antelopes then took their win streak to six games in the first round of March Madness, as they beat Saint Mary’s (CA) 75-68.
Verdict
Defense remains an issue for Alabama, but scoring is definitely not.
