Marquette put their conference tournament disappointment behind them with a first-round victory in the NCAA Tournament.
The Golden Eagles spluttered late in the regular season as they lost back-to-back games, falling 89-75 to Creighton and 74-67 to Connecticut.
They stopped the rot in their regular season finale as they won 86-80 at Xavier, and they then backed that up in the Big East tournament by beating Villanova 71-65 (OT) and Providence 79-68.
Marquette came up short in the final of the conference tournament however, suffering a 73-57 defeat at the hands of the Connecticut.
The Golden Eagles bounced back immediately though, kicking off their March Madness campaign with an 87-69 win over Western Kentucky.
Colorado Form
Colorado head into this second-round matchup in fantastic form, having now won 10 of their last 11 games.
The Buffaloes faltered in early February as they lost four times in a five-game spell, but their response was an emphatic one.
They closed out the regular season by winning six consecutive games, and kept that run going in their first two games of the conference tournament.
Colorado beat Utah 72-58 and Washington 58-52, before seeing their Pac-12 tournament quest end with a 75-68 defeat to Oregon.
The Buffaloes have bounced back at March Madness though, following up a 60-53 win over Boise State in the first four with a 102-100 victory over Florida.
Verdict
Colorado are a dangerous team, but they have already played a couple of close games.
Marquette are the fresher team and tend to cover as a favorite and when they win, so we like the Golden Eagles avoiding an upset here.
