Dmitry Bivol Form

Dmitry Bivol goes into this fight on the back of his biggest win of his career so far.

Bivol beat the man widely considered the best fighter on the planet, Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez, by unanimous decision back in May.

In beating ‘Canelo’ he retained his WBA (Super) light-heavyweight title and took his professional record to 20-0 (11 KOs).

That victory was his fourth straight unanimous decision success since become champion in 2019.

Bivol bested Lenin Castillo in October 2019 but had to wait until May 2021 for his next defence due to the pandemic.

The 31-year-old Russian made up for lost time by beating Craig Richards in Manchester, and he followed that up later in the year by getting the better of Umar Salamov.

Bivol then made it four successful defences in a row with his upset win over Alvarez in his only outing of 2022 so far.

Gilberto Ramirez Form

Gilberto Ramirez takes a perfect 44-0 (30 KOs) professional record into this world title fight.

Ramirez is no stranger to world title fights, having previously enjoyed success in the super-middleweight division.

The 31-year-old Mexican became a world champion for the first time in April 2016 when he beat Arthur Abraham over 12 rounds to claim the WBO belt.

He then reeled off five successful defences of the crown before moving up to light-heavyweight.

In his new weight class he stopped Tommy Karpency in four rounds before knocking out Alfonso Lopez in the 10th.

The stoppage wins then continued as he finished Sullivan Barrerra inside four and stopped Yunieski Gonzalez inside 10 in 2021.

Then, in his sole outing of 2022 so far, he knocked out Dominic Boesel in the fourth round to land this world title shot.
