The 76ers finished the regular season with a 47-35 record, with eight of those wins coming following Embiid’s return.
They started the eight-game streak with a 135-120 win in Toronto, and after returning home to beat Oklahoma City 109-105, they went back out on the road to beat Miami 109-105, Memphis 116-96 and San Antonio 133-126 (2OT).
Philadelphia’s streak then continued at home as they closed out the regular season by beating Detroit 120-102, Orlando 125-113 and Brooklyn 107-86.
The 76ers made it nine wins in a row by beating Miami 105-104 in the Play-In Tournament to advance to the playoffs.
New York Knicks Form
New York claimed second place in the Eastern Conference standings by putting together a 50-32 record.
The Knicks ended the regular season in good form too, winning six of their final seven games.
They ended March with back-to-back defeats, and saw that skid reach three games as they were beaten 109-99 in Miami in their first outing in April.
New York stopped the rot with a 120-109 win over Sacramento, and then responded to a 108-100 defeat in Chicago by winning five straight.
The Knicks won 122-109 in Milwaukee, 128-117 at Chicago and 118-109 in Boston, before returning home to beat Brooklyn 111-107 and Chicago 120-119 in overtime.
