Illinois head out on the road to face a ranked team for the second week running, and they will be looking to spring an upset to improve to 5-0.

The Fighting Illini opened up the campaign without shutout victory at home, beating Eastern Illinois 45-0.

That set them up for an early-season showdown with a ranked team, and they pulled off the upset as they knocked off Kansas, 23-17.

Illinois followed that a week later as they beat Central Michigan 30-9, sending them into their first conference game with a perfect record.

The Fighting Illini travelled to ranked Nebraska last weekend and came away with a 31-24 victory that has propelled them into the top 20 in the nation.

Penn State Form

Penn State enter their first conference game of the 2024 season boasting a perfect record thanks to three consecutive wins.

The Nittany Lions kicked off the campaign on the road, where they downed West Virginia 34-12 at the end of August.

They then backed up that victory in their home opener, again putting up 34 points as they beat Bowling Green 34-27 to improve 2-0.

Penn State had an early bye week after that victory, but they quickly picked up from where they left off.

The Nittany Lions returned to action last weekend and posted a shutout as they beat Kent State 56-0 to reach 3-0.

Illinois continued to deliver in the role of underdog and they remain a strong underdog pick on the road.
