The Utes started the season with a 29-26 defeat to Florida, but bounced back to reel off four consecutive wins before losing 42-32 loss to #18 UCLA.
They responded in style though, upsetting #7 USC 43-42, and backed that up with a 21-17 road win at Washington State as well as home wins against Arizona (45-20) and Stanford (42-7).
Utah then saw another win streak end at four games as they lost 20-17 to #12 Oregon, but again they bounced back in style.
The Utes blew out Colorado 63-21 and then upset #4 USC yet again, this time beating them 47-24 in the Pac-12 Championship Game.
Penn State Form
Penn State missed out on a Big Ten Championship appearance despite compiling a 10-2 record.
The Nittany Lions opened the season by reeling off five consecutive victories to enter the top 10 in the rankings.
That run ended with a 41-17 loss at #5 Michigan, and after they bounced back with a 45-17 win against Minnesota they lost 44-31 to #2 Ohio State.
Penn State have not lost since though, reeling off four consecutive victories to seal a bowl game appearance.
They won 45-14 at Indiana and 55-10 at Rutgers, while beating Maryland 30-0 and Michigan State 35-16 at home.
