The Wildcats began the season ranked, but fell out of the rankings as they lost two of their first five games.

Kansas State then ran #7 Texas close in a 33-30 loss, and quickly rebounded from that loss with a 59-25 victory over Baylor and a 31-27 win at Kansas.
The Wildcats failed to make it three-in-a-row to close out the regular season, losing 42-35 at home to Iowa State.
