The Wildcats won three of their first four games, but fell to .500 in early October as they were beaten by two top-10 teams.

They were beaten 31-24 at home by #7 Washington, before heading out on the road to lose a thriller with #9 USC, 43-41.

Arizona rebounded in style though as they beat ranked teams in each of the next three games, downing #19 Washington State 44-6, #11 Oregon State 27-24 and #20 UCLA 27-10.

The Wildcats then took their streak to six games by sandwiching a 42-18 blowout of #16 Utah with road wins at Colorado, 34-31, and Arizona State, 59-23.

Oklahoma Form

Oklahoma enter the Alama Bowl having won each of their last three regular season games to finish 10-2.

The Sooners opened up with a string of convincing wins, setting themselves up for a massive meeting with #3 Texas.

They came out on top in that game too, propelling them into the top 10 in the rankings with a 34-30 victory.

Oklahoma’s stock dropped in late October though as they lost 38-33 at Kansas and 27-24 at Oklahoma State in the last ever Bedlam in the Big 12.

The Sooners bounced back over their final three games though, following up a 59-20 blowout of West Virginia with a 31-24 win at BYU and a 69-45 victory over TCU.
