The Yellow Jackets struggled for consistency all season long, registering back-to-back victories just once.

They did record some notable wins against ranked teams in the ACC, starting with a dramatic 23-20 upset of #17 Miami FL in early October.

Georgia then matched that effort later that month as they won a high-scoring shootout with #17 North Carolina, 46-42.

The Yellow Jackets following that up with a 45-17 victory at Virginia, but they managed just one more win the rest of the way.

UCF enter the Gasparilla Bowl having won three of the final four regular season games to finish 6-6.

The Knights began the season with three straight victories, but their form nose-dived once the Big 12 schedule got underway.

They suffered five consecutive defeats, although they did run #6 Oklahoma close in a 31-29 defeat at home.

UCF finally ended their losing ways at the start of November, winning 28-26 at Cincinnati, and they backed that up a week later by stunning #15 Oklahoma State, 45-3.

The Knights missed out on a third straight win as they lost 24-23 at Texas Tech, but they did rebound in their last regular season game to beat Houston 27-13.

Verdict

UCF have recorded some big wins, but they have not been a good spread bet as a favorite.
