The Bulldogs, seeking a third consecutive national championship, won all 12 of their regular season games to march into the conference championship.

Georgia crushed #20 Kentucky and #10 Ole Miss at home, 51-13 and 52-7 respectively, and recorded their most impressive road win at #21 Tennessee, winning 38-10.
The Bulldogs then completed the regular season campaign with a 31-23 win at Georgia Tech on rivalry weekend, sending them into the conference championship game with a 100% record.
However, their dreams of another national championship went up in smoke as they suffered a surprise 27-24 defeat to #8 Alabama.
Florida State Form
Florida State are playing in the Orange Bowl after the College Football Playoffs committee controversially snubbed them.
The Seminoles made an immediate statement as they took down #5 LSU, 45-24, in their season opener, catapulting themselves into the top four in the rankings.
They then went on to compile a perfect regular season record and win the ACC Championship as they dominated the competition in their conference.
Florida State’s only meeting with a ranked team in the regular season saw them beat #16 Duke, 38-20, back on October 21.
It was not a completely smooth ride for the Seminoles though, as they lost start quarterback Jordan Travis to a season-ending injury against North Alabama.
However, a strong defensive effort led them to a 24-15 win at Florida in their regular season finale, and another guided them to a 16-6 victory over #15 Louisville in the ACC Championship.
Verdict
It is tough to back a Georgia team who could lack motivation and be without several key players.
Florida State, on the other hand, will want to send a message of defiance to the committee after their playoff snub, so give us the Seminoles and a couple of touchdowns here.
